B aena is located to the southeast of the province of Córdoba, about 62 km from it, between the Cordoba countryside and the subbetic foothills. Its altitude above sea level reaches 407 meters. The municipal area has an area of 363.3 km2, and it has formed a long history of settlements and occupations that have given rise to an ancient and unique culture, manifested in numerous remains that will surprise the visitor.
The image of the city that spreads over a hill full of white houses, stacked in winding and narrow streets, offers the typical picture of a country town, with a population that exceeds 19.000 citizens.
The N-432 road that connects the cities of Badajoz and Granada runs through it, forming part of the Caliphate Route and thus becoming an obligatory passage between Córdoba and Granada.
